In Module 1, we’ve learned how to create 1) a digital book cover (bitmap imagery) and 2) a logo (vector imagery). This project has two parts. The first part is using pictures and texts to design a book cover. We use digital photo editing tools to convey our vision for a book cover. The second part is about design a logo. This is my first time designing a logo. At first, I spent a long time thinking about what to design. Then, I used some letters in the English alphabet and some simple colored shaped to design a custom logo. Last, we share our images in a PowerPoint file with peers and upload it to our discussion board.

PART 1: DIGITAL BOOK COVER (BITMAP IMAGERY)
  • The book called Discover Meditation & Mindfulness was written by Tara Ward. It’s the first book I bought in the US. It’s special for me.
  • The picture I used was taken by myself when I went to Cedar Key. When I look at the picture, it reminds me of the great time there.
  • The other two pictures were from the Internet.
  • First, I inserted the pictures. I moved them to central and make them look comfortable.
  • Next, I created text patterns. Changed the color and size.
  • Lastly, I selected export to save the picture.

  • PART 2: LOGO (VECTOR IMAGERY)
  • The logo I designed is with a simple idea. My friends and I want to write a blog to share life here. It’s a good chance to design a logo.
  • I want to make the text look clear at the first sight. It looks like a blackboard style with a simple shape.
  • First, I type the text.
  • Next, I created patterns. Changed the color and size.
  • Lastly, I selected export to save the logo.
