This is my website where you can see all the works that I have done and learned from one of my courses which is EME6208 Designing Integrated Media Environments I at the Educational Technology program at College of Education at University of Florida. The course is an 8-week module fully online class. It’s my very first time attending a fully online course. I’m happy to share with you what I have learned this semester in Fall 2021. I’m glad that I have learned a lot of new skills about educational technology and instructional design. Such as web design and video making. Moreover, I have learned how to have more critical thinking and academic writing from my peers in this course. Though I have never seen my classmates from this course in person, I have seen everyone from our self-introduction videos. What I appreciate the most in class is the suggestions from the professor and the feedback from peers. Sometimes I have a hard time understanding the new ideas in a new project, or have no idea where to start the first step of a new project. When I see some discussions from classmates on the discussion board and the app, I feel so inspired. During the brainstorming step, I’m so grateful that everyone shares ideas! Everyone in this class is so amazing and willing to help others! I would love to meet everyone in person and say thank you all.

It’s my first time getting to know how to write codes. We create quizzes of Multiple Choice and Drag and Drop by modifying the code in HTML and CSS. It took me many hours to understand the difference and the functions between HTML and CSS. I’m glad that I can gain the basic skill and knowledge of coding from the fully online class. Through watching the tutorial online and following the instructions step by step, I created these two Quizzes about Multiple Choice and Drag and Drop successfully! Moreover, I learn how to add images to a website, how to change the color of the website background, how to change the font and size of the words shown on the website, and how to add and connect new pages on ta website. The whole process is a fun and cool experience for me! Eventually, we learn how to modify the HTML and CSS of our E-portfolio. We can change the style of the whole website the way we want. I’m so excited when I see I finish my work every time! I’ve spent many hours working on each assignment during these 8 weeks. Some skills which I think I’ve known but some skills are new for me to learn! For example, though I have used iMovie before, I don’t know some skills that we are going to learn as the instructions mentioned in class. Learning something new to upgrade my editing skill, which is exciting! Moreover, we are asked to make a 2-minute educational video with images. During my brainstorming, I rethink the definition of “educational video.” What kind of video could be seen as an educational video? After reading the instructions, I understand what we have to convey through an educational video. When we are creating an educational video, we have to pay attention to the title, texts, images, scripts, and theme that we use in the video, even the speed or the arrangement of the screen has an impact on the learner’s learning performance!

In short, I’m thankful that I have done all the works successfully though I could not make some projects perfectly in limited time. I appreciate that I have this coolest experience at UF in my very first semester.
